Question by sarah d: Ive got a 206 gti….?
Ive a 206 gti on a 53 plate and has only done 26000 miles. Its a lovely car but it over heats very slightly. It doesnt stay that way tho it does go back to normal after a few mintues. Is this anything to worry about? Plz help im a damsel in distress and ive had enough of cars!!!
It goes just above 90. The most it in between 90 and the next line. It does it when driving and at a stand still

Can you be more specific with what actually happens – how high does it go on the temp gauge? Also, when does it overheat – while you’re driving, or only when you’re standing still, etc..

At a guess, it sounds like you have some air in the cooling system.

Question by ianhad: Almera 2ltr GTi. What are the symptoms of, either chain wear, or piston slap?
The car has 106,000 miles on the clock, S reg.
When I start the car I get a rattle from the engine for a couple of seconds. Drives fine. NO comments about checking oil or such!!

wtf piston slap if your cars doing that then get it fixed. ive never heard of that sounds funny.

Why would this have suddenly happened my car was fine the night before and now i can’t even use my remote on my keys to open the door! HELP!!!
My keys will not operate the doors with the remote, I have even tried my spare key. It’s only a 03 plate….HELP!!!

Question by : I have bought a Peugeot 205 1.1 zest and changing the engine too a 1.6 16v from a 106 gti.?
I’m buying a 106 gti engine to go in my 1.1 205 zest (TU engine). I’d like to know what hubs, drive shafts and brakes too use for this conversion. Would be a great help if someone could answer this.

It would be cheaper, easier and more sensible to trade your 1.1 in for a 1.6 gti. Why you ask? The list is huge. If you bother to look at the differences in spec you will start to understand. Add transmission to your list, plus wheels and tyres and suspension, not to mention insurance which you won’t be able to get. Your insurers will view it all with trepidation. The car would have to be absolutely identical to the real thing to convince them it was an acceptable risk. I know you want to do it, and I admire your aspirations but reality should kick in, or it will end in tears.

Hi all, i have been unable to find any diagrams in relation to setting the cam timing on my peugeot 306 gti 6 1998.

Any ideas on where to find a diagram online, would be much appreciated. thanks .

There are no diagrams per se, you need a setting jig from the manufacturer or I think Seeley do them.
